Position Overview: We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to head a high-impact engineering team focused on transforming the digital experience of millions of global users. This role plays a critical part in scaling innovative digital products within the travel industry, leading an engineering organization with a strong emphasis on APIs, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration. The Head of Engineering will be responsible for orchestrating large-scale technical teams, driving product delivery excellence, and shaping mid- and long-term strategic initiatives in close partnership with product leadership. Key Responsibilities: - Lead teams composed of Engineering Managers, Staff Engineers, and Software Architects (total headcount: 50–60 people). - Work closely with Product Leaders to align business and technology objectives. - Establish operational excellence metrics and drive continuous improvement processes. - Scale the organization by fostering structures that promote autonomy, innovation, and accountability. - Mentor and develop technical leaders, cultivating a strong culture of growth and professional development. - Actively contribute to technical strategy definition and long-term planning. - Serve as a reference in technical talent evaluations, including senior and staff-level calibrations. - Stay up to date with engineering trends and advocate for the adoption of valuable new technologies. Required Skills: - Solid background in software engineering, with prior hands-on development experience. - Proven leadership in large-scale and distributed organizations. - Strategic thinking and strong product vision. - Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Experience in B2B SaaS environments or complex digital products. - Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams and drive cross-team technical initiatives. - General understanding of modern architectures (deep technical involvement not required). Preferred Skills: - Experience transitioning from service-based to product-based models. - Familiarity with analytics, automation, or applied intelligence tools. - Understanding of large-scale software quality assurance processes. Additional Details: - Required education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Work modality: On-site in Manizales, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
