Job Description Transform complex data into actionable insights for Scotiabank's International Banking, executing specific performance objectives and initiatives that support business strategies while ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and internal policies. Accountabilities - Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. - Participates in the design, development, and support of Business Intelligence tools and dashboards following industry best practices. - Analyzes business data and identifies trends to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. - Provides technical leadership in resolving data inconsistencies and reporting issues across business systems. - Supports and enhances reporting systems as required to accommodate new business applications and evolving requirements. - Demonstrates ability to implement and optimize reporting tools from 3rd party vendors. - Participates in technical assessments of 3rd party analytics tools and data vendors. - Consults with business teams on major initiatives to provide data insights, ensuring a) There are no information gaps, b) The analysis has been optimized from a value perspective, c) The accuracy of the business forecasts, and d) The completeness of the scenario analysis. - Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporated into day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk. - Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. Requirements - Experience with Dynatrace. - Experience in SRE related roles. - Experience with Python, PowerBI, and SQL. - Nice to have: - Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI dashboard creation, alerts, and management. - Understanding of data warehouse architecture and ETL processes. - Knowledge of installing and configuring different BI plugins and extensions. - Understanding of various banking applications data and creating statistical dashboards for business monitoring. - Ability to create alerts to monitor different business processes and applications. - Creation of complex SQL queries to monitor KPIs for different business applications. - At least 3 years of hands-on technical working experience in implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting BI solutions. - Experience with data analytics and advanced SQL queries is required for this role. - At least 2 years knowledge of data integration technologies and API management. - At least 5 years of technical understanding of various database environments (DB2, Oracle, MSSQL, NoSQL) and their optimization for reporting. - At least 3 years experience in performance tuning and capacity planning for data warehouse solutions. - Proven experience translating business requirements into technical specifications. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders. - Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
