Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **_ Accountabilities _**: - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Design/develop/test/support Db2 LUW database. - Plan, design, develop, test, and support database systems. - Perform regular database work and maintenance, such as storage management, import, export, load, access control, etc. - Provide technical analysis and recommendations. - System performance tuning and trouble shooting. - SQL performance tuning. - Scripting daily tasks. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **_ Reporting Relationships _**: **Primary Manager**: - Senior Manager **Direct Reports**: - Senior Manager **Shared Reports (solid/dotted if applicable)**: - NA **_ Dimensions_**: - Team of ~25 engineers - Canada - Capital budget & annual project cost - 30+ projects / 100+ systems **Education / Experience / Other Information** Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering. Must-to-have: 1) 3+ years of technical working experience as a Db2 LUW DBA supporting development/QA/non-functional testing/production environments within the Financial Industries. 2) 5 + years Hands on Experience of Db2 HADR (High availability disaster recovery) 3) 5 + years SQL Program Language Experience - as team also does development work 4) Strong communication skills 5) Excellent Presentation Skills - able to translate technical standards/practices to customer. 6) Desire to keep up with new technology innovations 7) Team player 8) Excellent problem debugging and resolving skills 9) English level required (B1+ - B2) _LI_-_Hybrid_ Location(s): Colombia : Bogota : Bogota ScotiaTech is a business unit within ScotiaGBS, a Scotiabank Group company located in Bogota, Colombia.
